Mom. I already know everything. You don't have to tell me anything...

A Quote from my all knowing 5 year old.
The other day we were all sitting in their room at bed time getting them ready for bed, and I was letting the boys know what the plans were for the next day.
Then Gavin just looks at me as if he's insulted to his core, that I would be so ignorant to think that he needed me to tell him what was going to be happening. And he proceeds to say, "mom. I already know everything, you don't have to tell me anything."
To which I reply, okay if you're so smart and already know everything, what is 6 + 6. Thinking that for sure he wouldn't know that yet.
He thinks for a minute, and them thinks a bit longer, then all of the sudden pipes up and says "mom, it's 12!"
Needless to say i was shocked. And I definitely wasn't really sure what to say, so I just told him he was right, and he did a good job (to which of course he replied "I know", so humble....gets that from his father).
I've also come to the conclusion that daddy's going to have to be the one to help him with his homework in the first grade!

When I saw the title of this post, my first thought was, "That's a five-year-old for ya!" Sadly, I have VIVID memories of thinking I knew everything when I was five. Elise was the same way once she turned five. Scary to think the twins will be five next month.... Anyway, I had to laugh when I saw this. What a little smarty pants! :-)
